Caddo Pecan Tree

This pecan tree first originated in Philema, Georgia discovered by C. A. Reed.  The Caddo variety of pecan tree begins growing pecans at a very early age, and it ripens in mid-season.  The Caddo tree produces superior yields and pecan production remains consistently high throughout maturity.  The nut of the tree is medium sized with a football shape (round in middle with pointed tips) and an average of 60 nuts per pound.  The kernel of the nut is well filled at 56% kernel and has an attractive golden color.  The shell of the nut is paper thin and makes for easy shelling.  The Caddo has good pecan scab resistance.  Should you purchase this tree, a Type I tree, we recommend that you allow this tree to cross pollinate with another variety such as the Choctaw, Elliot, Pawnee, Stuart, or Sumner.  This will help to ensure abundant production year after year.
