Gafford has excellent resistance to scab and foliage pests. Yields are good to very large. It produces medium sized nuts with moderate quality and bright kernels. Auburn University recommends this variety as one of the most pest-free selections they have ever evaluated. Gafford is an excellent choice for yard trees and low input orchards, as it can be grown with little to no spraying.
